Difference between organic, sprung ceramic and cushioned ceramic
The difference between the Sprung ceramic and cushioned ceramic clutch is as follows. The Cushioned-Ceramic Clutch Disc is more suitable for heavy street use, the Disc has cushioning between the 2 linings to give the disc some cushion, this allows for a more gradual pedal feel on clutch engagement and dis-engagement. The Sprung Ceramic Clutch Disc is suitable for off-road or high performance use only, the Disc is solid, both discs have a Sprung centre.
The organic is one step up from OE, providing better daily driving for 4×4 use including towing. The ceramic clutches can withstand more heat than organic but can create a lot of shudder and are less suitable for standard 4×4 driving, unless the 4×4 vehicle is kitted out with weight above GVM, closer to armoured vehicle level and if the vehicle will be driven very harshly.
